Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance
"Liedgestaltung" (Voice/Piano Ensemble Interpretation)
A) Admission requirements
- Bachelor of Arts in Music or proof of completion of a similar course of studies, or a Performance Diploma (pedagogical or concert diploma)
In general the MA in Specialized Music is preceded by a Master in Music Education or a Master in Musical Performance.
B) Entrance Exam
- Duration of the exam: 40 minutes per duo
Duration of the repertory to be prepared: at least 60 minutes Works from 3 different stylistic periods, including one block of at least 5 related songs, should be prepared The repertory should be in at least two languages
- In addition
- pianists should prepare a solo work (10 minutes) and expect to sight-read a brief prima vista piece.
- Singers will be asked to sight-read a short unaccompanied song.
The jury reserves the right to include a brief, spontaneous exercise - a text to recite, a short improvisation, or work on musical phrasing.
In the exam, you may choose the first piece you perform, and the jury will choose the rest.
Singers, pianists, and duos (voice and piano) are welcome to apply for the entrance exam. Candidates who apply individually are requested to provide a "partner" for the exam.
